Good morning, mate. You have arrived in the Northern Territory of Australia, capital city of Darwin. The territory covers about one sixth of the Australian continent that is equal to the combined areas of France, Spain, and Italy. There are two regions: The Top End and Central Australia. We will be adventuring The Top End Region. Darwin is home to approximately 79,000 people. Devastated by Cyclone Tracy at 3am on Christmas Day in 1974, it has now been rebuilt into a modern, multi-cultural city. There are 70 different racial and cultural backgrounds.

Isolated from other states, the Northern Territory is famous for their unique lifestyle. It has an easy-going atmosphere and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Multicultural mix is reflected in the food available at a variety of restaurants and open-air markets. Enjoy breakfast in the city, our next destination is Kakadu National Park. We will be traveling by road.

Kakadu National Park is famous for its cave paintings, rock carvings and archaeological sites. Make sure to pack your hiking boats and your backpack. You will be hiking through tidal flats, floodplains, lowlands and plateaux. Don’t forget your binoculars and your camera. Today is going to be a day in nature to show how important nature is to the Australian Culture. Take your time in your hiking adventure, we will be allowed two days to travel through Kakadu National Park until our departure to South Australia by plane.
