Webquest Process

South Australian Outback

Introduction	Your task for this WebQuest will be to create a portfolio about your virtual journey focusing on Australia's geography and culture. As you go through the tours, take notes about the different destinations. When you are done with your trip you will pick your four favorite places and include them in your portfolio at the end! Please refer to the directions below.

Directions:

Slowly, one at a time, go through each tour of Australia. Find the tours by clicking on the Tours/Map Link on the toolbar. You may also want to use this to refer to the map from time to time.
As you go through the tours, jot down some notes and start deciding which destinations are your favourites.
Pretend you have actually visited three places. Now that you are back home from your trip, your task is to make a portfolio about your adventures.
Make sure to include the following components:

A Cover Page:
- Give it a creative title
- Specify your name and class
- It must be neat and colourful with (hand-drawn) pictures representing your trip.
Four Trip Pages: Choose four of your favourite destinations and write at least a page for each.
- You are required to choose two destinations from Tour 1 (geographical tour) and two destinations from Tour 2 (cultural tour)
- Each page needs to have a creative title that sums up your tour.
- In addition, each page must have a summary paragraph describing the features of the destination and why you have chosen it as your favourite.
- Include pictures (coloured) and graphs/stats/charts on each page. The pictures should be a mixture of hand-drawn, and from other sources e.g. magazines, internet or text book. Explain why you have chosen these pictures. (Do not forget to cite the sources you use.)
Map Page:

This page must include a small map of Australia. Find and print out the map on the credits/conclusion page.
This map must be color coded by the different states. You must also label all of the territories and cities.
Neatness Counts!

Conclusion Page:

Label this page "Conclusion."
Write an argumentative paragraph about why other people should visit Australia at least once in their life.
List all sources that you have used to create your portfolio.
